I was introduced to Coates Guns a few years ago from a friend of mine I work with. Being as I live an hour away I was hesitant to make the drive initially as I’ve found most gun shop owners to be bad tempered and lacking in basic people skills. I’ve also found most gun shops to have a boring selection of basic hunting rifles and shotguns along with some cheap handguns and revolvers. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it doesn’t really blow my skirt up.
Upon arrival at Coates guns I met Casey, the owner. I found Casey to be very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. I was also pleased to learn that Casey is a Veteran. As a Veteran myself this is extremely appealing to me. How can you not support a Veteran owned business? Casey also stocks a wide variety of guns that you don’t see in most shops. SBR’s, subguns, long range rifles, and suppressors to name a few. Casey also has a Silencershop fingerprint Kiosk that makes purchasing a NFA item very effortless.
I’ve exchanged countless emails with Casey over the past few years, and he always makes time to answer my questions. I have purchased several firearms and some NFA items from Casey and even though it’s an hour to drive from me, and there are multiple shops within my vicinity I will continue to drive past them and do business with Casey. I enjoy doing business with him (if only the ATF would operate the way he runs his shop). I would encourage anyone reading this to do the same. As I stated in the heading you won’t find a better shop or owner.
